VIA has announced a new 11.6 inch notebook, the eNote Turnkey Solution, with a focus on mobility and wireless communication. The small ultraportable sports two wireless modules: one for the standard stuff like WiFi, Bluetooth and optional AGPS, and one for cellular broadband (WiMAX, HSDPA/3.5G eller EVDO).
The eNote Turnkey Solution is powered by a VIA Nano 1.3GHz processor with the VX800 chipset (capable of DirectX 9.0 graphics, video acceleration of MPEG-2/MPEG-4/WMV9/VC1/DivX and can run HD content and 8-channel sound), has up to 2GB RAM and a choice between a number of hard drives and SSDs. It will ship with either Windows XP, Windows Vista or Linux.
I/Os include 3x USB 2.0 ports, VGA output and a 4-in-1 card reader. There is also a 2MP webcam.
The whole thing weighs 1.3kg (inkl. a 4-celled battery that should provide a battery life above three hours) with the dimensions 240 (W) x 175 (D) x 36.2 (H) mm.
No word on price or availability yet, but it will probably only be available via cellular operators.
