OCZ has unveiled two series of SSD drives.
The first series is named Colossus and this will consist of disks with capacity of 120GB, 250GB and 500GB. the disks have write speeds of 260MN/s, feature 128MB cache and house 2 x Idilix controllers.
The price of these will be 399Euro, 749Euro and 1399Euro for the 120GB, 250GB and 500GB version. A price of 1399Euro for a 500GB hard drive may seem extreme, but this is actually a low price compaired to other high-capacity SSD drives.
OCZ will also launch a series called Colossus Cascade and this will consist of hard drives with a capacity of 250GB, 500GB and 1000GB. These will have the same write speed as Colossus series but be equipped with 256MB cache and 4x Indilinx controllers.
Nothing about the price of the Colossus Cascade series has slipped out yet, but one can expect that the price will be high.
