LG readies another CULV notebook, two netbooks

LG logo LG have launched their latest mobile notebook, the T280, and as is practically mandatory these days for that segment, it is based on a CULV processor from Intel. LG will show it off next week at CeBIT along with two new netbooks.

The idea behind T280 is to make a device with the mobility of a netbook and the performance of proper notebook. For the latter, the LG T280 sports an Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 processor (1.3GHz, 3MB cache) or a slightly cheaper Intel Pentium SU4100 (practically the same specs except for only 2MB of cache).

In addition to that it gets Intel's GMA 4500MHD graphics and 2GB of 1066MHz DDR3 RAM, so you should be able to get a decent performance out of it (if you keep away from games and other things that require a GPU that can do more than just support Windows Aero).

Otherwise it features a 320 or 500GB hard drive and Windows 7 Home Premium. Actually not a bad setup when you consider how mobile it is: 11.6 inch display (LED-backlit, 1366 x 768 pixels resolution), weighs 1.39kg and has the dimensions 293 (W) x 200 (D) x 16.7 ~ 31.5 (H) mm.

As noted above, LG will also bring along a couple of netbooks next week. They are called X140 and X200, and are both based on an Intel Atom N450 processor (1.66GHz) with GMA 3150 graphics. They should also have 1GB of RAM and draft-N WiFi, but otherwise there seem to be a few differences on the inside.

X140 will have a 160GB HDD while the X200 gets 250GB. There is not a whole lot more information regarding X200 at the moment, but it seems X140 will get Windows 7 Starter, 1.3MP webcam, 10.1 inch LCD display (1024 x 600 pixels), Bluetooth and a SIM card slot.
