Hanvon brought a few interesting tablets to the CeBIT exhibit, TouchPad BA10E and BC10C, featuring Windows 7 Home Premium and Intel processorers (Atom or CULV). Both come with capacitive multi-touch screens and nice features like an optical mouse and two webcams.
BC10C is the more powerful of the two with an Intel Celeron ULV 743 processor (1.3GHz, 1MB cache), 2GB of RAM and a larger 250GB hard drive. That also makes it a bit heavier at around 900g (which is still quite light) and will probably cost a bit in terms of battery life.
BA10E is more of a lightweight with an Intel Atom Z530 processor (1.6GHz, 512KB cache) and just 1GB of RAM plus a smaller 120GB hard drive. Of course that means it weighs less at about 600-800g, and the battery is sure to last longer. This model may also be available with a stylus and active digitizer, which is great news for those who prefer handwriting.
Both are 10.1 inchers and the displays look pretty glossy which is probably not ideal for tablets, but they are still prototypes so it may change. Both BC10C and BA10E have an optical mouse in the lower right-hand corner (it can even left-click and right-click) plus a number of shortcut buttons on the side, as well as a volume wheel. You also find a webcam in the front in both, but BC10C has an extra at the back to make taking photos of anything but yourself easier. They also feature built-on microphones for those video conferences.
There is WiFi and Bluetooth in both tablets, and also an SD card reader plus HDMI output, USB ports and of course the mandatory audio jacks.
They should cost between €500 and €600, but it seems Hanvon has not yet decided when to properly introduce them to the market.
