Okay, most of us have probably seen the same old netbook with the same old specs too many times to count now, and this new device is not particularly original in that area. The name - Colorful S101 NewYork - is somewhat odd though, because what does a Chinese manufacturer have to do with New York? Nothing at all it turns out, but luckily Colorful does have one unique little twist in the form of an accelerometer (like on an iPhone).
Thanks to that and the included software, the display always follows the position of the computer. That means if you tilt it to the side, you can switch from a 1024 x 600 resolution to a 600 x 1024 resolution. Who needs an eBook reader like the Amazon Kindle when a netbook can do the same thing and so much more? Okay, it does weigh twice as much at 1.1kg, but the prices are almost identical (about $320 versus $299).
An extra advantage of the accelerometer is that it can sense if the Colorful is falling towards the ground, causing the hard drive to turn off temporarily to avoid damage.
