Asus logo Asus first brought the NX90 to CES in January, and now the beast can be found at Computex as well. NX90 is pretty big at 18.4 inches, and the two speakers on either side of the display certainly add to this impression.

The design is by Bang & Olufsen's David Lewis, and is probably best described as unique. The two speakers take up quite a lot of space, so they better deliver some outstanding audio that can draw focus. That is not all, though.

Rather than a single touchpad, they gave it two - one of either side of the keyboard. They look quite large, which unfortunately gives the impression of a cramped keyboard. The area just below it is huge - about the same size as the keyboard and touchpads combined - and made of a shiny aluminium that does not go too well with fingerprints.

Whatever are you supposed to do with that? Use it as a table? On the other hand, design does not always have to be practical. In any case, there are some wonderful specs to drool over:

- 18.4 inch display, LED-backlit, 1920 x 1080 pixels (full HD)
- Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processor
- Up to 12GB of DDR3 RAM
- 1GB Nvidia GeForce GT 335M or 1GB ATi Mobility Radeon HD 5870 GPU
- USB 2.0, USB 3.0, HDMI, VGA, card reader

That is all we know of at this point when it comes to hardware. It will supposedly be available sometime in the late summer or early fall at around €2,150.00. That ought to include a Core i5 processor and the GeForce GT 335M (a middle-class card). If you want the best i7 processor and the HD 5870 GPU (currently the best on the market for notebooks), you will without a doubt have to pay considerably more.
