Asus logo Asus will soon bring a new business notebook to Europe, which will be available from next month. The PL30JT is a handsome little 13.3 inch device with a sleek exterior in black, brushed metal that combines good hardware with mobility.

With a height of just under 25mm and a weight of 1.7kg (with an 8-celled battery), mobility is a non-issue and the battery life of +10 hours pretty darn impressive too. Of course you should not expect that under real-world conditions, but it is likely you will still get over 6 hours out of it, and this is actually pretty good considering the hardware.

Among other things, it contains a discrete GPU from Nvidia, namely the GeForce 310M (1GB). It is classified as an entry-level card and so is not recommended for the newest and most demanding games, but it should not have much trouble with mainstream games like World of Warcraft, Sims or Counter-Strike.

The device also features Nvidia's Optimus technology, which means the computer itself will switch between the discrete and integrated GPU so as to optimise performance vs. battery life.

Other features include an integrated 0.3MP webcam + microphone, Altec Lansing speakers (SRS Premium Sound) and - interestingly enough - Computrace, which can be used to track the device in the event of theft.

Asus PL30JT should be available around Europe next month at a starting price of €999.00
