If there is anything MSI are good at, it is churning out new devices. Their Classic series just keeps on growing and growing, today with the launch of CX410, which is based on AMD's "Danube" platform.
CX410 looks like the other Classic laptops - slightly non-descript and clunky looks, but it is actually not so bad with a weight of 2.2kg and height of 2.8cm. The display - which features LED lighting - is a 14 incher and runs a WXGA resolution (1366 x 768).
As noted above, it is powered by the "Danube" platform, which here consists of a dual-core Athlon II processor (unnamed, so expect several SKUs) with the RS800M+SB820M chipset.
Graphics are of course by ATi, here in the form of the Mobility Radeon HD 545v GPU (512MB). That should be a rebranded Radeon HD 5450, a card that falls under the "lower middleclass" description. It is thus made for less demanding mainstream games, and not so much the newest 3D titles. Having said that, you can get most things to run if you are willing to cut down of resolution and details.
Otherwise you get up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM, 250/320/500GB hard drive, DVD drive and a 6-celled battery. MSI do not mention a specific battery life, but do not expect any wonders; AMD are not exactly notorious for making the most power efficient processors, and the dedicated GPU probably does not help either.
Otherwise you get pretty much what you would expect in terms of connectivity and I/Os, such as draft-N WiFi, Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR, HDMI and all the other standard ports. There is also an integrated 0.3M webcam and microphone.
